this was the first song. i don't know what really came about, or how it clicked, but once it was complete, i knew this would be an EP that would be finished quick. i was fairly satisfied with it right away, and it has remained largely unchanged since i created it. i shared it with a few people immediately after i made it, and the response was enough to get me to continue. thank you to ross williams for your assistance on one early section of the song, colin joyce for your always constructive advice on anything creative i do, koji kondo for your beautiful ear for melody, and brendan powers for helping me guide the song to its final place. and most importantly of course, thank you to chrissy wrobel, who read a full paragraph of memoirs of a geisha only to have the first sentence be recorded. thankfully, it was a perfect capture, and provided the perfect closure the song needed. i understand that this is somewhat of a reinterpretation of "necrophilia in popular culture", but it's definitely an improvement on that, and i'm still not sure if this song could use another section or so. but i like the breakdowns, and i love the transition from this to "pig reading" the most out of any other. maybe.
